Today started great packed up my gear and checked out. Had a cup of coffee and while I was uploading yesterday’s post I chatted with this older guy about traveling and ran into a biker couple that are continuing a prior trip, this leg from Lincoln City to Bandon. I wished them luck and set off.
I was immediately greeted with a healthy hill to climb. Wasn’t quite ready for it but oh well bring it! Not far from the top was my turn off to Seven Devils road which was aptly named. Some very steep steeps on this little run.
Took an offshoot road for a bit and came down Whiskey Run lane which was quite beautiful and also one of the funniest roads of the trip so far.
Met back up with Seven Devils road here and had an uneventful ride to US 101.
Took a back road into Bandon coming in on the Old Bandon side which was really cute. Passed by the Bandon Marsh on the way.
Stopped here for my standard breakfast. That biker couple from earlier showed up as I was leaving. Wished then a good trip home and took a nice. Rode along the Ocean View drive that hugged the coast and then turned back and met up with the 101. Stopped for some pics of the amazing coastline and a nice lady took one of me in front of elephant rock.
The next town about 16 miles away was Langlois which was really small but had great character. Stopped here and chatted with a trucker a bit about how horrible the RV drivers are 🙂
Not much in the next town of Denmark other that beautiful landscapes and some sheeps.
Here’s a shot of Elk river just outside of Port Orford.
Stopped in Port Orford for some groceries then continued on to Humbug Mountain State Park my home for the night.
The park groundskeeper is clearly in love with his hedger but the place is very clean and quiet. Not a bad view for $5 🙂
