Day 12: Merritt to Princeton
After a leisurely morning I got on the road about 10. I decided to head south to Princeton rather than the shorter loop to Kelowna.
Merritt was a cool little no bull kind of town. there are a bunch of hand painted portraits all over town and little plaques on the streets commemorating music star of yore. All these things didn’t make much since till I stumbled on the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and the main street (It all makes since now).
So Long Merritt!
The road to Princeton started off with a healthy climb. I think I need to eat more food as I felt sluggish from the start, especially after yesterdays long climbs I was not ready for it and it took me awhile to get my legs. Things started to come together when I got on Highway 5a which is a little use two lane road that goes through some truly breathtaking scenery *easily the best stretch of road since I started.
Coming into Princeton I stopped to ask this tough guy for directions, but unfortunately he was just stonewalling me 🙂
And the Princeton airport has an interesting weather vane!
I’m not sure where I’m off to tomorrow as of yet, planning it out now.
