Day 18:

I didn’t want to get out of bed today I was too comfy. But somehow I forced myself up and got my thing together cleaned and oiled the bike and I was off. After a light snack and some coffee of course 🙂

Not a bad day when this is what greets you in the morning.

I made great time to Mendocino. There were some dolly hills but over all smooth sailing.

I stopped in Mendocino for breakfast. Didn’t see a diner everything was all boutiquey and kind of felt like a cheeseburger. So I ate at this place called Mendo Burger and it was horrible and really expensive. Really disappointed and didn’t feel right for a long while after.

The road out of Mendocino was much harder. Not sure it the terrain was to blame or my body being mad at me. But either way it was pretty.

Was contemplating quitting in Elk River which was a little over 40 miles for the day. Had a long rest and an ice cream here

The sign on top of the sign tree read $pendocino which made me laugh then sigh as I got suckered by a 14 dollar cheeseburger.

I felt better after a long rest so decided to truck it to Manchester Beach State Park to camp for the night as the motels are pricey in these parts.

Saw this as I was almost to Manchester. These guys are power workers and they get a ride to and from the top of the mountain via a harness and a helicopter. How cool is that!

Which brings me here my home for the night Manchester Beach State Park. I can hear the ocean and it’s peaceful.
