Day 19 Nakusp
My rest day in Nakusp was just that restful. I had a nice breakfast and a short scavenger hunt to track down where I left my water bottle (Small towns are awesome it was right where I left it on the table outside the ice cream shop :))
What would a bicycle tour rest day without a nice bike ride. I wanted to go to the Nakusp Hot Springs and if I wasn’t going to hitch hike riding the 15km to the springs was the way to go. It was a nice ride even with a 412m climb (thats 1350ft for you standard measurers).
It was a great way to spend a few hours and I had a nice conversation with a local guy about travel and life and just having fun. Ran into him again later in town and had another short chat.
Now I’m shedding some weight and sending some stuff home. One being my broken voltage conditioner which my macgyvering has failed to mend as well as some other gizmos that I don’t see needing for the rest of the journey.
Tomorrow I’m back the road again and I’m looking forward to it. For those that have been on extended journeys you can attest to the need for movement and getting antsy being in one place to long. That’s how I feel right now although Nakusp has been a wonderful little town, I am ready to move forward.
Until then I’ll leave you with some photos from today’s ride and rest.
You are trucking fast! I had to look up on a map where in the heck you were. What a beautiful spot.
It is pretty amazing up here. More mountains to come as I enter the Rockies 🙂
