And the road to Oakville was so pleasant.
I wish yesterday was like this.

I wish yesterday was like this.

Oakville itself was a desolate little town the had an indoor growing supply shop and a pot dispensery. LHT got his photo in front of a place that was clearly something sometime.

Stopped in Rochester for a midway snack and then it was off to Centralia.
Where I stopped to get new gloves and wonder why they don't have places like this in Seattle.

The Open Road

The ranger there said the park was closed till May but I could camp at a city park about six miles down in Toledo. Ugh OK so I truck down to Toledo was eye balled by the cops so I already have a bad vibe about this town. I find the park pay my 10 bucks to camp and as I was about to get set up the weird little guy who lives in an RV at the park comes by and says the bathrooms are under renovation so there was no camping. He of course didn’t have a key to get my money back. So I left 10 bucks lighter, fuck you Toledo, WA! As I was riding down the road I ran into this guy named Rollins who was pretty chatty and after a bit said I could camp on his farm by the Cowlitz River which was really nice of him. So here is my home for the night.

P.s. to any future cycle tourers always keeps a little extra gear left in you even on the crazy up hills for dogs that don’t like you, want to eat you, are fast runners and have more energy than you do (after 50 miles of riding). I’m at 5 dog chases so far.

OK then until next time…
