Day 42 Oyen-Kindersley
Today was a great ride. It was nice to ride in the sunshine with a hefty tailwind as opposed to yesterdays rainy headwind. I booked a place to stay before I left which was a bad decision as when I got to Kindersley an hour and a half early. I still had plenty of energy and day to push forward. But, it’s OK I’ll be able to get some work done, which I need to continue to remind myself is priority #1 and I need to make the time to work. So I guess I was right to book ahead after all 🙂
Here some highlights from my ride today.
The milestone of the day was getting to my third province as I crossed into Saskatchewan from Alberta.
Here is the Buffalo Rubbing Stone a point of interest. This old stone was used by the buffalo of hundreds of years ago to scratch themselves. The buffalo in there quest wore down the ground around the stone as they circled around. It is also surrounded by a fence that has a bunch of old boots on each post, not sure what that’s about.
I never thought that I would see this sign in the prairie but it’s always a welcome sight 🙂
Ken, this is so cool! My family land granted in Saskatchewan before coming to the US.
I remember you said that! Awesome 🙂
