Day 5 New Westminster to Abbotsford
Hey Guys so I’m finally getting to today’s post. It has been quite the day. Let me start by letting you all know that the comment issues that some of you had that required a wordpress account should be fixed, if not please let me know and I’ll get it worked out 🙂
My workflow is still all messed up and I hope to get some sort of routine going.
OK enough of that! So today I got started pretty early, I stopped to repack and purge some unnecessary items and ship them to Seattle along with 1 bag so it lightened my load a little and more importantly made load/unload less annoying 🙂
Thankfully my stomach is starting to feel a lot better so after the re-pack and before I hit the road I stopped at Amelia Cafe for breakfast. It was quite delicious but unfortunately they don’t let bike inside so the LHT had to stay outside. She looks sad huh?
And after breakfast and a long ride back on going the same way I took to get to Vancouver I finally got on a rode going East and it soon got rural.
This tractor driver has amazing posture!
Outside of Langley I was starting to have wheel problems. Turns out the tire was failing and was developing a bulge. I used the best tool for job Duct Tape and limped the rest of the way into Abbotsford. Where I am staying with an awesome host Brian, his wife and adorable little girl. He was kind enough to ride with me to a local shop to get a new tire and they have been an absolute pleasure to spend time with.
So I finish this post late with way to many things left to do. But I hope to get caught up and in a rhythm soon. I also need a better workflow on editing photos quickly from my phone, if anybody has some tips let me know.
Thanks!
Looks beautiful Ken! I saw a bicycle trekker near my home loaded down with gear and thought of you…and how my idea of vacation and yours is very different 🙂 peddle safe!
Haha come on Shammy you’d make a great cycle tourer, give it a go!
Looks/sounds like a fun adventure. I’m jealous! Pedal safely.
