Well today started off a whole lot better than yesterday ended. I got some good rest and more importantly I got my spirit back and was ready to hit the road and see new things.
So I said goodbye to Manzanita for warmer climes. It was a little drizzly but I didn’t mind (go figure).

Here is what greeted me this morning Around Nehalem Bay.
I stopped in Rockaway Beach for a late breakfast. And contemplated the fascination with all these towns naming things after Hemlock. I bet you thought I was going to point out all the East Coast town names (Mahattan Beach, Rockaway Beach, Bay City, Brighton Beach) didn’t you 🙂

Garibaldi was an interesting little town and at the end of it they had this great big pillar. What was it for? I wonder…

Barview had these neat little rocks just on the other side of the tracks.

Which brings us here where apparently cheese is made but you can’t buy it. I looked everywhere for a piece of cheese but all you could get was ice cream and I didn’t want any ice creams I wanted cheese!

So I left! Here is a nice view of the Tillamook river as I was heading west.

Which brings me to my final destination today Cape Lookout State Park.

I know it’s a really short day but this place is beautiful not sure when I’ll be able to come back so I decided to camp early and enjoy the scenery. Now you can too 🙂

Oh and I met my second biker today here at Cape Lookout. A nice kid named Eric from Bellingham. He’s also has the same destination but is using a different source so I might run into him too or might not… Thems the breaks…
