Day 109 Shediac-Borden Carleton
After a nice rainy night I was thinking today was going to be bad for my trip to Prince Edward Island. Lucky for me the weather gods were shining on me with a nice tailwind and a sunny sky.
There is a nice road along the coast that takes me almost all the way to the the 9 mile long bridge to PEI. The nice thing about coastal roads that are off the highway is that they are off the highway and little used by all the trucks and Rv’ers out there. It was a peaceful morning. About 30km from the bridge an older timer stopped me to ask if I needed any food or water which was nice we ended up chatting for awhile about the coastline and biking. Those little encounters do pick up your day, it’s always nice to meet people on the road.
You can’t ride bikes or walk across the bridge so they have a shuttle that takes you across the Northumberland Straight. After waiting for about 40mins I was finally on the shuttle and on the way to my 8th Province.
So long New Brunswick, Hello Prince Edward Island
