Days 13-14 Princeton-Keremeos-Penticton
Princeton was an uneventful little town. I didn’t realize till later that it had a pretty cool visitor center and museum. I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for interesting stops as I move east.
I got on highway 3 headed to Keremeos which was interesting to ride into an entirely different environment that Princeton or Merritt. The high desert of this region is beautiful.
As I was getting settled in Keremeos I ran into The Ruru’s a couple from New Zealand on a coast to coast Canada tour as well. We had a good long chat and then walked over for dinner at a pretty fantastic Thai restaurant in town. Brent and Claire were fantastic to talk with and it was refreshing to meet like minded people. It kind of validates what your trying to do when you run into folks that are doing the same things.
Today started out great after a nice breakfast I got some drawing time in and saw off the Rurus with the promised to meet up at the next destination Penticton (we ended up crossing paths a little more than have way there).
There was some rain intermixed with sunshine along the way and once again some stellar scenery.
In Penticton we stop for a pretty awesome cheeseburger at Burger 55 on the other side of town and here’s a pic of me and my new pal Brent (didn’t get one of Claire) on the way to Penticton.
I am purposely doing short miles so I can get things done that I want to do but also to have the extra time to actually enjoys then towns I stop in. So my next stop is Peachland and I’ll be doing short miles all the way to Calgary at least and probably pick it up dramatically through the prairies of Southern Saskatchewan and Ontario.
So until next time…
