Days 197-209 Orange Park, FL-Palm Coast, FL-Tampa, FL
A lot has happened since I got of the bike here in Florida and I’m not talking about the election or whats to come. I’m talking about progress on my cycle touring plans, namely I have a definite date for Cuba and tickets in hand (I leave February 6th). It was also great to spend Thanksgiving with great people. It was quite the whirlwind week that included a trip to Disney world and a Seahawks game in Tampa.
Now that the sounds of “it’s a small world” fade from my mind I am back on the job, working on my route and what gear I’m going to take with me. The U.S. limits the amount of baggage you can fly with so I’ll be taking my bike and two packs. This restriction changes my plans post Cuba slightly, instead of going directly to Mexico I will come back to Florida collect the rest of my gear then head to Cancun to cross Mexico.
Until then I’ll keep you posted on my planning and the interesting things that will happen in the meantime.
Looks like a fun stopover 🙂 How difficult is it to travel into Cuba? I wonder if anything will change now that Fidel is gone.
Enjoy winter in Florida, we’re freezing booty here in Seattle
Hi Jeri,
It’s actually pretty easy to travel to Cuba, it gets a little more interesting once I’m there. I’m more concerned about this so-called president we’re gonna have. I heard it’s cold up there, it was a cool 80 today. Missing Seattle for sure…
I’m holding out hope that the Electoral College does the right thing and doesn’t vote him in but I could be delusional. Ack!
Freezing, literally, here in Seattle so I’m jealous 🙂
Hope you have a great holidays Jeri! 🙂 I’ll take advantage of the weather here for the both of us k.
