Days 20-21 Nakusp-Shelter Bay-Revelstoke
It was nice to get back on the bike after an great break in Nakusp. After a nice breakfast and a quick stop at the post office to ship some more unnecessary gear I hit the road north.
It was a pretty nice ride from Nakusp to Shelter Bay and I entertained going on to Revelstoke but decided to stop anyway. Luckily I did as it started pouring just after I got the tent up so I took a little nap. Some neighbors pulled in next to me, a retired couple from Golden and they were just lovely. We had a nice long chat about all sorts of things and they invited me to share dinner with them which was wonderful as all I had was popcorn and beef jerky.
It started raining again so we said goodbyes and I went to the tent for cover.
Here are some photos of my trip up to and including Arrow Lake Provincial Park (just up from the Ferry) which had a spectacular view even with the bad weather.
So it rained all night long which sucks and even worse was that it proceeded to rain all day long. It was a short ride but with a hefty climb in the middle which conveniently coincided with the heaviest downpour. Getting into Revelstoke was a welcome gift. I checked into my motel and immediately turned on the heat as I was frozen to the core. I then unpack all my gear and cleaned and hung up my wet tent and gear to dry. Luckily the rain subsided and I was able to get out and walk around town. Revelstoke is a tourist stop for sure but a pretty cool destination nonetheless.
Not sure where I’m headed tomorrow, got some decisions to make so stay tuned!
