Days 210-232 Orange Park, FL-Cozumel, MX-Orange Park, FL
As I sit down to write this I am amazed at how much time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday I was getting off the bike for some much needed rest and time with friends. Now it’s Christmas Eve and I am wondering where this last month has gone.
When I think about it a lot has happen since I last updated you on my progress and plans. The time since Disneyland and Thanksgiving has been spent working on projects, my business and continuing my planning for my Cuba tour.
I have made considerable progress on that last front. I have set dates for my trip. Feb 6th I’ll be leaving Jacksonville, FL onward to Havana. From there I will take a bus to Santiago de Cuba, which is on the South Eastern side of the island. I will then zig-zag my way back to Havana where I will fly back to Florida on March 8th.
There are some hurdles that still need to be overcome. Finances, what to pack (this will be a bare bones endevour), finalize my route, and tune/pack up the bike.
Between the working and the planning there has been quite a bit of fun time with the Umbehants. We took a short cruise to Cozumel. Now cruises are typically my thing and they are definitely not environmentally sound. I justified the luxury as my carbon footprint is very small. Bonus that I was able to practice my meager but improving Spanish.
When I have my route more solidified I will do a Cuba specific post and note some the the interesting things I have found out. Until them I leave you with a little bit of Cozumel, Mexico.
Much love…
Merry Christmas Ken!! Feliz Navidad =)
Thanks Jeri 🙂 and Feliz Navidad to you and yours too!
