Days 37-38 Calgary-Drumheller
SO I decided to rest up a bit in Calgary and check out the city. Much like any other city it has a fair share of nightlife and restaurants. The hostel I was staying at was right downtown which made walking around pretty easy.
I didn’t do too much, they have a cool observation tower and it was interesting to see how much distance I covered since leaving the mountains.
If you squint you can see the Rocky Mountains in the background, from whence I came…
Red’s was definitely a highlight. Great food at this place. I stopped here for breakfast on my way out of town, they have a super cute and cool staff. My server for breakfast was adorable and we had a fun conversation about travel and tattoos. If your ever in Calgary check em out.
After breakfast I packed up and checked out of my hostel and headed out towards Drumheller to see the dinosaurs.
They say up her in Canada that in the prairies if your dog runs away you’ll be able to see him running for 3 days. I kind of believe that, it is going to be a mental test for the next 3000km for sure.
But… you always come across random act of interesting out in the middle of nowhere.
After spending so long drawing these guys for the Saskatoon Children’s Hospital I was working on I an finally starting to see these little prairie dogs everywhere. They are an interesting creature for sure and very animated.
Just as I was entering the Badlands and right outside Drumheller is Horseshoe Canyon which was pretty cool. It’s interesting how quick the terrain changed.
Drumheller is in a valley in the Badlands so there was a pretty welcome and nice downhill into town.
Now to rest up and check out the Worlds largest dinosaur tomorrow. Don’t worry I’ll be sure to take some pics 🙂
Until then…
ken, this is so cool
Thanks Evie, it’s been a lot of fun so far 🙂
