Days 48-50 Lanigan-Wynyard-Yorkton
Before starting this journey I was under the impression that the hardest riding would be crossing multiple mountain ranges, but, the prairies has been a lot more difficult riding so far. It comes from the long rolling hills and the monotony of the scenery coupled with the wind working against my either from the side or the front with the exception of two day where I had a fantastic tailwind and made amazing time.
Leaving Lanigan I was not feeling to good and wasn’t in the mood for riding, so I ended with a short day (70km) to Wynyard.
Passing this sign I was thinking ya right but, it has proved itself true. This stretch of road has been an amazing experience riding through all the diversity of bird life. It must be all the pond with high grasses that hide the little rodents and bugs along with the wind that I can only assume would make for some fun flying.
Now this doesn’t look like the Kandahar I know!
The rest of these are from the long ride to Yorkton.
Lots of dragonflies like to sit on the pavement. I’m not sure why, their not dead just hanging out. Either way they look cool.
Today is supposed to thunderstorm all day, so I’ve decided that it would be a great day to get some work done and get back on the road tomorrow.
