Days 68-69 Marathon-White River-Wawa
It was nice to get back on the road. Marathon wasn’t the place I wanted to stay another day but it was perfect to rest.
So it was unsettling to get the feeling your being watched when your getting ready in the morning…
Turns out the LHT was just anxious to get back on the road, so was I.
It was a beautiful day out and I soon ran into Martin (A fellow tourer) and road with him for about 40km. An interesting young man and it was an absolute pleasure to meet him and ride with him. He lost me about 30km outside of White River.
There’s Martin snapping a pic of the same lake I am 🙂
I’m not sure what Ontario has against Popeye! I know he can be a bit surly but all in all he’s a pretty good dude and he eats his veggies. Maybe that’s what they don’t like him, good veggies are hard to find in the rural bits.
and I made it to white River my home for the night, also it turns out the Birthplace of the inspiration for Winnie the Pooh.
This morning getting ready to get back on the road I notice that the sky looks pretty ominous
Here’s White River (at least the highway part)
This was a cool lake along the way. It started to get pretty windy and drizzly out so I didn’t snap any more pics for today.
The good thing is I made it into Wawa and am happy to rest up for the next ride. The awesome thing is I caught up with my touring kiwi buddies Brent and Claire Ruru who I first met in Keremeos BC many moons ago. We have kept in touch since but you can’t beat face to face so it was great to catch up with them. Looks like we will be on the same route for awhile so should be fun 🙂
