Days 92-94 Montreal
I had planned to stay a few days in Montreal not so much to rest but to explore a new city. It was a great idea born out of necessity to secure an Airbnb for my stay as it gave me a local perspective. It was a bonus that the rate or 4 days was less than a nights stay in some hotels.
After resting up and I set out exploring a bit of the neighborhood “St. Henri”
It should be noted that the Metro system is super easy to use. From any giving station you have clear signage pointing the way to the ramp your looking for. Seattle should have done more research or maybe some research into clear signage.
I went on a mission the next day to get a haircut and explore the town. Low and behold I got a message from my old friends the Ruru’s (Yep the same ones that I’ve said goodbye too countless times) that they were coming downtown. They had some brake problems and had to special order parts for their tandem so they were grounded for a few days. I suggested we meet up in Old Port which turned out to be a fun afternoon.
Those cyclists in back look a little impatient
Turns out there was a big gaming convention, for a second I thought I was back in Seattle except for all the french of course.
After saying Au Revoir to the Ruru’s once again I went back to rest up. The next day was a tour de Montreal.
I got an early start and headed for Mount Royal a nice little mountain in Montreal that provides epic views. It did not disappoint!
Then I headed to downtown, the mile-end neighborhood, and few others neighborhoods that I stumbled on while walking all over.
Today was spent at the pool and generally doing as little as possible besides laundry. Tomorrow is a riding day and I am looking forward to getting back on the bike. It’s interesting how quickly I get antsy after 90+ days of travelling in a very specific manner.
Let’s see what tomorrow will bring. Until then, I wish you all the very best!
Much love,
K
Looks like an amazing city to explore!! Have you decided what’s next?!
Montreal is pretty cool! Not sure what’s next, most likely going to ride down the East coast to tour Cuba
It’s crazy it’s been 90 days already. Miss you Shammy!
Amazing, Ken.
Thanks Evie!
Magical adventure. What is the story behind the umbrellas on the power lines? That is very unique and imaginative
Oh those are for the play Mary Poppins at the theatre next door.
